Who are the Friends and why join?
The Friends of the Topsfield Library are a very active and dynamic group of people who are committed to the mission of the Friends:
- To promote knowledge and wider use of the library and its services;
- To improve these services and to aid in the development of broader and better programs for all age groups;
- To accomplish this by developing public support and by providing funds for items beyond the ordinary budget; and
- To increase the community's cultural advantages.
As a member of the Friends of the Topsfield Library
museum passes are available to many local museums and parks (see list
below). The Friends newsletters and emails, detailing coming
events and library news. Additionally, membership also provides
entry to a number of Friends only event.
Most importantly, your membership enables the Friends to provide ongoing support to the Library, which in turn helps the Library maintain its important and critical role in the community.

How to join the Friends:
It's easy to belong to the Friends of the Topsfield Town Library. The membership year runs from October 1st through September 30st. Please stop by to pick up a form, and leave it at the library or mail it with your dues to Friends of the Topsfield Town Library, South Common Street, Topsfield, MA 01983. You can also print out a Word copy of the form here.
Dues are as follows:
- Senior Membership $5.00
- Family Membership $20.00
- Corporate Membership $50.00
The Friends meet on the second Wednesday of every month from 9:15 a.m. or 7:15 p.m. Please check the Library calendar for the meeting schedule. Contributing your time and ideas is a great way to get involved with the community. Sit in at one of the meetings and see what the Friends are all about! New ideas and faces are always welcome!
